That thunk was the other shoe.

I was suppose to go to a Horse Trial this weekend. I was entered, I paid, I had a stabling assignment and ride times.

But no.

My knee started hurting last week – suddenly hurting while I was riding — so I needed to get off RIGHT NOW. Lots of boring doctor stuff later, nine days of no riding to rest the knee, and I am still not riding in the horse trial this weekend.

It was a hard decision, because when I rode on Friday, my knee didn’t hurt exactly, but it was noticeably “off”. So I scratched.

It is hard to not let this get to me, I feel like it was the culmination of four years’ journey to actually start showing, even if it is still a schooling show.  But next month Polestar Farms has a Derby and clinic on August 27th and 28th.  I am going.
